Your Planet, Your Choice
We were pretty happy with the performance of last year’s 2000 Trees Initiative. Through it, we planted 2280 trees in Australia and the Amazon, and managed to get our client Reed Professional Services to plant 1,000 trees of their own. This was a great result, but we think we can do better.
While we hit our target (yay!), we didn’t generate much conversation (booo!). Getting RPS to follow our example was fantastic, but some of our other clients didn’t know we’d planted trees on their behalf until we sent them a certificate saying so. It wasn’t that we kept it to ourselves, but that the environmental pledge was passive, requiring no direct input from the clients themselves, so it was easily missed or forgotten during the contracting phase of each project.
We’re seeking to rectify that this year, with our Your Planet, Your Choice campaign. Instead of quietly planting trees on behalf of our clients, we’re now asking our clients to choose how they’d like to help the planet. Each time we start a new project, we’ll be asking whether they want to plant trees, sponsor an orangutan, or donate to ocean cleanup charities. The aim is to get our customers more involved, making it feel less like something we do because of them, and more like something we do with them.
Tree Planting with One Tree Planted. We’ll plant 30 trees per project at a location of your choosing.
Sponsor an Orang’ with International Animal Rescue. The more projects you complete with us, the more orangutans we can support.
Ocean Cleaning with The Ocean Cleanup. Choose to help clear Earth’s oceans of plastic and we’ll donate £30 per project to The Ocean Cleanup.
Keep your eyes on the blog for updates around how the Your Planet, Your Choice campaign is going.
