  Newport Uni Mobile App

  The Newport Uni app is the one stop shop for Newport’s prospective students, current students and staff.  The update is now available on iPhone and Android.  I produced the content and design along with the Web Developer, and I liaised with Newport’s Design Studio to produce the Web 2.0 style splash screen and icons.   Newport University’s Website Re-Design

  One year on and I thought it was about time to take a look back at the re-design of Newport University’s website.  Newport’s re-designed corporate website (www.newport.ac.uk) was launched late 2010.   360 Panoramic Virtual Tour’s In Depth

  Virtual tours are an extremely effective way of showing a building or a location online. From a higher education point of view, VT’s give prospective students an idea of the University and its location before visiting.   Caerleon 360 Virtual Tour

  This is a 360 panoramic virtual tour of Newport University’s Caerleon campus.  Shots were taken around the campus including a spectacular panoramic view from the clock tower.  The aim of the tour was to show the campus facilities and the green scenic views.  It was shot using a Nikon D5100 and a Sigma 4.5mm fisheye lens.  You will need Flash to view it.

  Newport Slang App

  In July 2011 my team at University of Wales, Newport launched our first mobile app on Apple’s App Store and on the Android Market.  We created a light hearted concept to test out developing and publishing apps.  The Newport Slang Translator was born, and to our surprise it was very successful and generated local media interest. The concept was not a traditional way to advertise a University, but it proved very popular with prospective students and the 13-17 year old age group. [...]
